Report of the Refugee Women Conference on Women Participation and Leadership in Uganda

Check out our report of the Refugee Women Conference on Women Participation and Leadership, which we organized in Koboko, Uganda, on December 5, 2023, in partnership with OXFAM, with funding from DANIDA. The conference was a platform for women from both refugee and host communities of Imvepi and Bidibidi Refugee Settlements to come together, share experiences, and develop practical strategies for tackling the social, economic, and political barriers they face.

During the conference, the women discussed enhancing economic empowerment, promoting gender-responsive parenting, and fostering inclusive decision-making to empower women and girls to actively take on leadership roles and participate in developing their communities. You can read our full report to learn more about these enriching discussions and the many inspiring stories of the women who attended.

Share the report. Spread the word. And join us in enhancing and facilitating the participation of women at all levels to help create a peaceful and gender-just community where everyone has equal opportunities to succeed and thrive.
