CECI Uganda 2023 Annual Report

The CECI Uganda 2023 Annual Report is here!

After three long years of COVID-19, refugee families faced even tougher challenges in 2023. Reduced food rations, cash transfer cuts, rising poverty, and increasing school dropouts made it even harder for many families to recover from the effects of the COVID-19 pandemic.

In response, CECI Uganda and our partners stepped up to support their recovery, directly impacting 16,004 people from refugee and host communities, including women and girls, youth, children, and persons with disabilities, in Koboko, Obongi, and Yumbe districts, Uganda. Our report demonstrates how refugees are taking a leading role in addressing the needs of their own communities in ways that empower themselves and others.

At CECI Uganda, we take great pride in being a refugee-led organization that innovates local solutions to prevent violent conflict and alleviate poverty. We worked side by side with refugees and host communities to plant trees, assist out-of-school youth in accessing education, and support women in getting elected to leadership roles. In this report, you will learn more about how our work together helped these communities work with each other to resolve and prevent conflict, rebuild their livelihoods, foster recovery, and adopt sustainable practices to mitigate the effects of climate change.

As we celebrate the incredible resilience of refugees this holiday season, we hope you take pride in the change you have helped create and reaffirm your commitment to supporting Refugee-led Organizations like CECI Uganda. With your continued support, we can empower even more refugees to rebuild their lives and prevent conflict. Read our full report, share it, and join us in working together towards a more peaceful and self-reliant future.
